The time has come for Juniors at CHS to start planning for the ACT. This article is designed to help Juniors be informed about incentives, upcoming events, or ways to prepare for the test.

John Baylor’s Appearance:

On April 6, one of John Baylor’s representatives from his firm will come and give a “crash course” right before the day of the ACT. He will also teach what John Baylor teaches in his online courses.

OnToCollege.com:

OnToCollege.com is an online resource made available to junior and senior CHS students who are looking to practice for the ACT.  This resource consists of videos and practice quizzes centered around the information the ACT will address. It is free for all CHS students. To log into OnToCollege, use your school email address with the password discoverers in all lowercase letters.

Homeroom/LEAD Sessions:

There will be a homeroom session held by Junior English teachers designated to the writing portion of the ACT and how to improve your writing scores. There will also be LEAD sessions with each core class. Make sure to look up ACT LEAD sessions on Powerschool as the date has yet to be determined.

Parent Consent Forms:

Parental consent forms will be handed out to all Juniors and their parents. The form is for parents to give permission to send test scores to the colleges or schools of your choice. With the consent form signed, students have the ability to send their scores at any college for free.  This is a $13 savings compared to having these institutions send for ACT scores themselves.

Non-ACT Items:

Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25, Juniors will fill out ACT Non-Test items during US History class time (1/2 a period) on Tuesday and Wednesday.  US History teachers will come with your group to the IMC on those dates.

I am a 4'10 feet tall Junior who loves sleeping and pineapples. This is my second year doing Newspaper for CHS. I enjoy watching Netflix, listening to music, and taking naps.
