Movie Review: The Nun

The Nun, a horror film  released Sept. 6,  is currently one of the most popular movies in theaters. It is a follow up of The Conjuring movie series, which have been some of the most watched horror films. This film has made it all over social media with people advertising it and “hyping” it up, but in all honesty I expected better.

Comparing the trailer and the movie, it looks like more time was spent on the trailer than the actual film. Yes, there are some scares here and there, but nothing really shocking or scream worthy. The ending may have had you on the edge of your seat because you finally get to experience and watch what had traumatized Lorraine Warren, one of the main characters in the Conjuring series. However when I saw what she had experienced, I was really dissapointed, I would have thought the producers put more effort into making it actually horrifying.

The one of very few things I liked about the movie is how well connected it is to The Conjuring series, you find out new things about the character’s past that will shock you and somewhat throw you off. This film is just a mess, overall I was very disappointed.
