Despite starting the season with several well-fought losses, the coaches of CHS boy's tennis hope to see the boys improve and grow to be prepared for conference.
“Keep working hard and try to improve every minute of every day,” said Coach Bock when asked about the team's goals.
Mr. Bock has been coaching for about seven years and wants to finish in the top half of conference this year. He is hoping that this will happen with a more experienced team.
Joining Coach Bock in his eighteenth year of coaching the team is Coach Bethune.¨Our goal is for the most part is to do better in every invite competition,¨ Bethune said.
Bethune hopes there is a lot of growth and progress this year. He hopes the team can improve its record from last year and to be able to rise from it. Coach Bethune is not only excited and optimistic for the returners but also for the new members of the team.
One of the new seniors to the team is Zach Medinger. This is Zach’s first time playing tennis and he is trying something new. Zach hopes to win at least one match this season.
Another new member to the tennis team is sophomore Landen Hastreiter. He says he ¨Is excited to play and hopes to win a couple of singles¨. After the team fell to Kearney he hopes that next time they can work harder and play better.
The boy’s tennis team continues to compete on September 15, 17, 22, and 24 as they work towards conference on Sep. 29. .
