Things To Do for Halloween

Time To Get Spooky

By Lexi Paczosa-Hall

With October comes a series of related events and activities. Autumn can be a rather romantic time with your significant other, but there are many events that anyone can enjoy. Grab your sweaters and stomp on the leaves cause it’s about to get pumpkin-y.

  • Go to a pumpkin patch (obviously)! Here are a few to go to in Nebraska:

    • Vala’s Pumpkin Patch in Gretna

    • Roca Berry Farm in Roca

    • Skinny Bones Pumpkin Patch in Blair (They even have a dog day!)

    • Country Harvest Pumpkin Patch in Glenvil

    • See here for many more and a map.

  • While you’re at the pumpkin patch, pick out a pumpkin and carve it. Check out Pinterest for designs.

  • Have a scary movie marathon. If you’re not a big fan of horror, watch movies like Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, or Frankenweenie. My personal favorites are Tim Burton movies.

    • Freeform’s 31 Days of Halloween lineup here

  • Make Halloween cookies/ desserts.

    • Pillsbury recipes here.

    • Pumpkin themed desserts here.

    • Caramel apples here.

  • Decorate your house or room

    • Click here for inspo or check on Pinterest.

  • Have a fall themed photoshoot.

    • Make sure for lots of fall colors: maroon, mustard yellow, olive green, brown, etc

    • Fall Picture Inspo

  • Go to a haunted house

    • Scary Acres in Omaha

    • Mystery Manor Haunted Theatre in Omaha

    • Camp Fear in Elkhorn

    • The Wicked Haunted House in Crete
