Oprah Winfrey

I have learned over time that everyone is different in the way that they live, what they like, their motives, everything. In order to really get that point across to not only others but to fully develop it myself i thought that i would discuss a few people or a few things that happened in America that made people different from one another and added more individuality. I believe everyone is impactful in their own way, what they love to do impacts them and them doing what they love greatly impacts America. Some people who i along with my community.

Oprah Winfrey: I'm sure most people who expect that the overly beloved americans would be Presidents or even Athletes but many people all around America are inspired by Oprah Winfrey.

Oprah is a 64-year-old chairwoman who the world was introduced to through her legendary talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show” in 1986. Since 2011, (when the show ended) Oprah has managed to stay center of attention for all the good reasons. No wonder she is an inspiration to so many Americans. Oprah has greatly affected Black History, this inspires so many young female entrepreneurs to keep going and to follow their dreams, it reminds women that the color of your skin or your sexuality or anything doesn't matter as long as you work hard enough and you are determined. Oprah is very humble because she knows who she is and she know how she has inspired people and it makes her very proud and feel very accomplished of all she has done. Even after the show that made her successful ended, Oprah keeps the memories, the love and the money. Her investment-savviness allowed her the ability to maintain the vast equity she accrued from her time on the “Oprah Winfrey Show.” Another very notable accomplishment that Oprah Winfrey has done is a number of things in the feminist community. Earlier this year, Ms. Winfrey gave a breathtaking speech about feminism at the Golden Globes. The primary agenda of her speech was to get through to the audience what it's like to be a black woman in today's society. The full speech can be found here (

). The emotion and pride that Ms. Winfrey conveys in the speech is truly remarkable. Her breathtaking remarks shocked the world when she delivered it on live television for the whole world to see. Some key quotes from her dazzling speech that will really get you into her mindset and maybe help you relate are as follows:

“ I have tried many, many, many times to explain what a moment like that means to a little girl, a kid watching from the cheap seats, as my mom came through the door bone-tired from cleaning other people's houses. But all I could do is quote and say that the explanation in Sidney's performance in “Lilies of the Field”: Amen, amen. Amen, amen.”

“Each of us in this room are celebrated because of the stories that we tell. And this year we became the story. But it's not just a story affecting the entertainment industry. It's one that transcends any culture, geography, race, religion, politics or workplace. So I want tonight to express gratitude to all the women who have endured years of abuse and assault because they, like my mother, had children to feed, bills to pay and dreams to pursue.”

“In my career, what I've always tried my best to do, whether in television or through film, is to say something about how men and women really behave. To say how we experience shame, how we love and how we rage, how we fail, how we retreat, persevere and how we overcome.”

I focus so heavily on this speech because every word she utters in it is so pure and resembles her in many ways. Oprah wrote this speech to tell her story to the world. If that is what I am going  do, if I am going to write about a legendary woman such as Oprah I need to include this breathtaking speech that she delivered at this years Golden Globes. She opens up about racism, feminism, show business and everything in-between. Oprah life was not the most ideal or ordinary setting but that's what she loves about it, she loves how much it challenges her and how she can overcome those challenges in inspiring ways.

Oprah has opened up about how the most important people in her life are her friends, the people that she knows she has inspired and the people that inspire her. Here are some quotes from Oprah's most important people in her life:

"Oprah said if this didn't work out for her, she would have become a 4th grade teacher. You did become a teacher, with the whole world as your classroom." – Will Smith

"Your show has turned surprise into an art form. Oprah Winfrey, today you are surrounded by nothing but love. Your studio was not big enough to hold it all, so here we are." – Tom Hanks

"She's a self-made woman who's been at the top of her game for over 25 years – and she's still kicking a** ... It's no secret that millions of people are inspired by Oprah. I am one of those people. She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular. I have learned so much from her." – Madonna

"Oprah Winfrey, because of you, women have graduated to a new level of understanding of who we can be. We can run the world!'" – Beyoncé

"She has given me love, support, wisdom and most of all the truth. I'm not alone in receiving those gifts." – Maria Shriver
