This morning, an explosion thundered underneath the streets of West London, coming from Parsons Green underground station. According to Metropolitan police, the event is being investigated as a terrorist incident.
People on a tube train in the station reported hearing a loud bang, then seeing a fireball travelling down the tunnel towards them. Pictures and videos soon popped up on the internet, from the train car, showing flames coming out of a carrier bag containing a white bucket.
In a later report, police announced that the police blast came from an improvised explosive device planted in the station.
A total of twenty two people were injured in the explosion, but none of the injuries are believed to be lethal.
