This year the CHS art club will make a field trip to Kansas City, MO. Surprisingly this won’t be an overnight trip, but a one-day excursion. The art club is proud to say they are going to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art on April 28th.
The schedule for this trip starts off with a 4-hour drive to the art museum. The bus will be departing CHS at 7:30 am, and luckily for the students, they will be providing breakfast! Once they reach Kansas City, they plan to have lunch at noon and begin the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art Tour. The tour will last from 1:00 to 6:00 pm, followed by dinner at a restaurant. The art club members will depart Kansas City right after and are planning to arrive around midnight at CHS.
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a museum known for its numerous art collections of diverse cultures from all over the world. Currently, they have 13 exhibits to explore. However, the museum changes its exhibits over time to introduce new art each year. At the museum, they provide art classes and events for all of the family to enjoy and try out their art skills.
To be able to go on this trip, the art club has been working hard to save up enough money through fundraising events such as the Winter Arts Festival we held last December. The art club set up the art show, helped out the Waffle Man, and decorated winter themed cookies to sell! They have really put in the effort to go on this spectacular trip to Kansas City!
All in all, both students, and teachers are anticipating the trip they had been planning for a while. This trip to Kansas City is truly one to remember for the art club students, as they get to visit the grand Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art!
