With Homecoming 2022 week right around the corner, there are many exciting things to come with it! 

The whole week will feature dress up days building up to the football game Friday night.  Monday will be themed as Marvel. Wear your favorite superhero costume or come as your own superhero! Tuesday students will dress up as the one and only Adam Sandler! On Wednesdays, we wear pink says Karen Smith in the movie “Mean Girls. Dress as pink as you can to show off your favorite character from the movie. Thursday students will dress up as characters from the best movie Teen Beach Movie. Come as either a surfer or a biker. Lastly, on Friday students will support their school and wear their Columbus spirit wear. 

“I think that Adam Sandler day will be the best one,” said student Noah Lawrence. “I’m excited to dress up for all of them,” said Ellie Loeffelholz.

On Friday, October 14th, Columbus will host their homecoming football game at Memorial Stadium against Lincoln High at 7:00. The award-winning Columbus High School Discoverer Marching Band and the high-kicking Diamond Dancers will provide halftime entertainment, and the coronation of this year’s King and Queen will happen after the game.

The week will conclude with the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 15th at 9:00. This year’s theme will be “Hollywood” and those that go will be able to show off their fabulous outfits as they walk down the red carpet under the dazzling lights.

Junior Carys Graham is more than enthused about the dance.  “I love the homecoming dance.  There are tons of people, the music is amazing, and I can't help my feet from moving to the music!”

Tickets will be available Tuesday, October 11 at $10 a ticket.

All in all, this year represents one-fourth of your total high school homecoming experience!  It’s a great time to be a little silly while still demonstrating your pride in being a Discoverer.  Jump into the week with both feet and enjoy!
