Mac Miller died September 7, 2018. He grew up in Point Breeze Pittsburgh and went to Taylor Allderdice High School. Mac Miller began his career in city’s hip-hop scene in 2007, at age 15. He signed a record deal with Pittsburgh based indie label Rostrum Records in 2010. Mac Miller’s debut studio album, Blue Side Park (2011), reached #1 on the US Billboard 200, the first independently distributed debut album to top the chart since 1955. Miller embarked on his first heading tour at the beginning of 2011. The incredibly Dope tour, selling out every location, in February 2011, Miller was one of eleven rappers featured in XXL’s annual ‘Freshman class list’. Mac Miller spoke openly about his struggle with many people, he was a very wise and open person.
