Powder Puff For the Kids!

JUNIORS WITH THE WIN! This was the cry heard throughout Bostic Stadium on the night of November 16th after the junior class overtook the senior class in the annual powder puff football game. Despite the cold, everyone came out ready for an exciting game and that is exactly what they got. With girls playing flag football and boys as the coaches and cheerleaders, the night was far from normal. Spectators were treated to history in the making when the junior class defeated the senior class with a score of 14-0. “It was incredible being part of history for the junior class” raved junior coach, Michael Ginder. “There is nothing like it.” Although the seniors came up short, their pep and spirit could not be contained. Shouts of “for the kids” could be heard in the stands and on the field. All proceeds from the game went to benefit Northern’s Mini-Thon. The club promotes awareness of childhood cancer and raises money for research. “We all come together and plan great things like powder puff,” said Steph Violette, overall head of the Mini-Thon committee. “It’s just great fun.”
