I always wanted to be on a sports team. Most of all, I've dreamed of being apart of a sports family. I was in 7th grade when I first tried out for the Washington Prexies; some of my friends also participated in the try-outs. I went home and told my mom that I was going to tryout and she was so proud of me for exploring what I want to do in school . They had practices that helped us learn the routines and cheers all weekend. It was Monday morning and try-outs were after school, so I went to my friend's house with a group of girls to practice the routines. When it was time to go, we walked to the school, got our numbers, and waited for our turn. I was scared when I walked in, but the judges were nice so it made it more comfortable for all the girls there. When it was finally over I went home and waited for the phone call which finally came at 7:30. Coach Megan called my mom and asked to talk to me, so she handed me the phone. I said, "Hello, this is Janae". She replied , "Welcome to the Prexies Cheerleading Squad". I was estatic! I actually made the team; I loved everything about being on the team. Some of the things I loved the most were the fans and traveling with the sports teams. That was my first time trying-out for the a sports team; it was one of the best experiences of my life.
