Dear Nobody: The True Diary of Mary Rose

DEAR NOBODY: THE TRUE DIARY OF MARY ROSE

EDITED BY: Gillian McCain & Legs McNeil

“Dear Nobody” is about 15-year-old Mary Rose who has an abusive step father, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and Cystic Fibrosis. This story goes over her life from 15 to about 18. It explains her trips to rehab, hospital visits, relationships, friendships, and moving to a new town.

While reading this story, I learned a lot about different types of abuse. Drug abuse, alcohol abuse, physical abuse, mental abuse, self-abuse. It all ties together to make you feel bad for this young woman.

After many rehab visits and drug abuse issues, Mary finds herself in the hospital for probably the two-hundredth time. Mary Rose sadly dies in the hospital with complications related to her Cystic Fibrosis.

This story wasn’t a hard read for me, and I normally don’t like non-fiction. It keeps you curious and wondering what will be happening to her next. This book, even though it is well written, does have quite a bit of crude language so if you are sensitive to that, I wouldn’t recommend it.

In conclusion, this book is a story about a young woman who is fighting with a lot of problems and keeps fighting till the very end.

                                                                                         Long Live Mary Rose.
