While Fortnite is still the biggest game in the world at the moment, its easy to forget one of the biggest online games of all time, Minecraft.
Minecraft was first released to the public on 17 May 2009, as a developmental release on TIGSource forums, later becoming known as the Classic version. Minecraft recently held its ten year anniversary. Minecraft sold over 154 millions copies with having active 90 million players monthly. In terms of overall downloads, Minecraft also holds the lead with over 150 million copies sold, compared to Fortnite’s 125 million. While ignoring the game Fortnite, with season 10 ending and a new season coming among us. The Fortnite player count continues to rise, as Epic's battle royale has recently set new records for both its total and concurrent figures. In an interview with Engadget, the company's CEO revealed that Fortnite now has around 250 million registered players. Can it be true can Minecraft really be reclaiming it's crown Fortnite?
