Work Horror Stories

Working with kids can be incredibly rewarding and fun, but there are bound to be some accidents and mishaps that occur. Here are just a couple stories that capture the negative aspects that  come with working with kids in regards to bathroom accidents:

The Slide: It was my first week on the job and so far everything had gone smoothly. That is, until the slide incident. Since quite young kids come to my place of work, it is inevitable that not everyone will be potty-trained. It is our job to clean up the unpleasant accidents that result, but I was not prepared for the scale of the catastrophe. One small child decided to poop as he went down the largest, darkest slide in the play area and I, the new employee, got tasked with climbing up the slide and cleaning the disgusting mess. Not only that, but young kids continued to try to go down the slide of horror despite my obvious attempts to barricade it with my body.

The Stain: Another unfortunate accident occurred on the ground floor of the play structure where I worked. Another child, small and understandably untrained,  chose to poop on the padded floor. Once again I, the newest employee, got to clean up the resulting mess. This time, however, a stain was left on the floor. The stain powder we had required 30 minutes to set before being vacuumed up, which caused issues as this was located in a central part of the play structure. Thus, I got tasked with guarding the stain from the never-ending flow of children who tried to step in it.

The Floor: On an incredibly busy day, I was lucky enough to have a group of young, disobedient boys running wild in the building. Just when I thought they could not annoy me more, they came up to me and revealed their big news: they peed all over the boy's bathroom. As quickly as they blurted out their fun secret, they were gone from my vision. Thus, all I could do was mop up the revolting mess they left me. To top it all off,  some fathers gave me a hard time when they noticed that the bathroom would be closed for a whole 10 minutes.
