Nicknamed "The Man with the Golden Arms",  Australian resident James Harrison is a living hero due to his numerous blood donations. Harrison has donated blood 1173 times after being inspired by his own surgery that he underwent at the age of 14. While the act of donating blood this many times is an incredible feat on its own, the amount of lives he has saved due to his rare antibodies is even more spectacular. Because of particular antibodies in his blood, it is able to be given in order to prevent hemolytic diseases in newborns, including Rhesus disease. His blood is predicted to have helped over 2.4 million babies. Since there are laws regarding donor ages, Harrison donated for the last time at the age of 81 on the 11th of May this year.
