Boys Basketball Pre-Postseason Round Up

The Farmington Knights boys basketball team in the second half of the season. Over their last eight games, the Knights are 7-1, including wins at Jackson and a Conference Tournament Championship last week.

The Conference Tournament was played February 4th to 10th, in which the Knights were seeded third and went home with a 3-0 record and the winning plaque. Farmington got revenge against both North County and Central, when they beat the Raiders 63-48, and took down the Rebels in the championship the next night by a final score of 55-50 in Overtime.

For the Knights, Tycen Gray seemed to carry the load when he was needed most. Throughout the three game tournament, Gray compiled 66 points and 44 rebounds, a tournament best for both statistics. Senior guard and recent Missouri Baptist commit Brendon Hardy compiled 16 points against North County, and added 17 more in the championship to help lead the team to their third straight tournament win.

The Knights will finish off their regular season by hosting the State Ranked Hillsboro Hawks at home on Friday, the 16th, and then travel to Pacific a week from Thursday to meet to the Indians for their final game before the District tournament. Farmington currently stands at 13-8 after a tough one point defeat to the Cape Notre Dame Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
