Seniors Ring in the New School Year on Ring Day

The Class of 2018 began the countdown to graduation with AMSU’s annual Ring Day festivities on October 27. Ring Day is the culmination of the girls’ four years at AMSU, and the rings serve as a “badge of honor” for the senior class. The girls first laced on their skates, took up their scooters and dashed from Poe Park to AMSU on the Grand Concourse. Of course, many girls fell on the way down, but the school community was there to support them. In the formal ceremony, students were given awards for their excellence and outstanding work in their academics and services. Janna Dicent, Class of 2018, won an essay contest on sisterhood. Finally, the juniors and sophomores performed for their upperclassmen.
