International Night

By Dileysi Nunez &  Darlenis Cabral

Every year, the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula’s International Night is a must-see show. November 18, 2016 was the night many family and friends came to see our young women perform different dances, songs, and skits from various cultures. Some of the heritages that were showcased were Jamaican, Dominican, Puerto Rican, Nigerian, Guyanese, and Vietnamese. There are many others that the school celebrates, making AMSU’s auditorium a melting pot.

Our young women start preparing from the beginning of September so that everything is perfect for the night of the show. This year's International Night was full of talent and creativity. AMSU’s students were ready to take on the stage since what one would think birth! These girls shared with their classmates and teachers, along with loved ones, their distinctive traditions.

Inevitably, the show was a success for everyone. The faculty clapped proudly from the balcony. Students took their bows. Parents cheered for their daughters. Some would say that AMSU was like a blessed airport, thankful all the many cultures had landed. The standards from last year have been topped, and next year’s expectations have already been set high.

The Academy of Mount Saint Ursula’s community of diversity was brought together to celebrate everyone. You won’t want to miss the next one!
