On Saturday, January  20th, the Roverines traveled to Adelphi University and faced off against 39 other teams, at the VEX In The Zone robotics competition. Newfield finished in 1st place, bringing home the “TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS” trophy.

The Roverines also came in first place in the competition’s skills challenge, earning them the “ROBOT SKILLS CHAMPION” trophy. The trophy is given to the team that accumulates the most points between an autonomous-control and driver-control challenges. Although the Roverines are very proud of their accomplishments, they will continue to refine and improve the robot in preparation for their upcoming competitions.

Next, Newfield will travel to East Rockaway on Saturday, February 10th to compete in their final competition before heading to the New York State Competition in March.
