Newfield High School is excited to welcome Ms. Mauceri to the guidance department!  She is a seasoned school psychologist who worked as a psychologist at Valley Stream Central High School before coming over to Newfield High School.

One of the questions I presented Ms. Mauceri with was, “Why is psychology so important to you?” She replied saying that she wanted to help “...de-stigmatize mental illnesses” and wanted to help students with issues regarding mental health. It is quite clear that Ms. Mauceri is a very comfortable and kind person to be around.   

During my interview with Ms. Mauceri, I also learned that she loves competing in races, running 5Ks, and other athletic activities. One fun fact about Ms. Mauceri is that she went skydiving! She also expressed that some of her favorite shows and movies are Game of Thrones, Rick and Morty, and Deadpool. In regards to Newfield, Ms. Mauceri also said she “loves it!” and finds that “everyone is friendly.” During her time at Newfield High School, she is looking forward to getting to know everyone and helping out students with any problems or issues they are encounter.

Author’s Note: I want to personally thank Ms. Mauceri for taking time out of her busy schedule to meet with me, and I want to wish her the best of luck here at Newfield!
