Participants Flood the Ocean City Boardwalk Despite Weather for Annual HERO Walk

Established by the HERO Campaign, the annual HERO Walk promotes the use of designated drivers. The HERO Campaign was created in memory of Ensign John R. Elliott, who was killed by a drunk driver on July 22, 2000. He is an alumnus of Egg Harbor Township High School Class of 1996, and graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and he was named "HERO" of the Class of 2000. This year, participants endured less than ideal weather conditions to raise awareness for a great cause. School based and community teams came out for the walk, as well as notable figures from the EHT and Ocean City Districts. Even through the wind and rain, volunteers were in good spirits till the end.

Hello! My name is Layla McIntosh, I'm a sophomore in the EHTHS Communications Academy. I'm interested in dance, singing, and acting and have been doing all three since I was two years old. I love getting involved in the school plays and I'm apart of the EHTHS Thespians. Also I'm very excited to see the future of the EHTHS COMM Academy and see what it has in store for us.
