The school counseling office is holding a contest to look for artwork to feature on the cover of the 2021-2022 Course Selection Guide book.  If you are interested, please download a copy of the information sheet that has been posted to your Schoology newsfeed.  The submission deadline is November 19th, so don’t delay.

 --------------------------

This announcement is for all 10th graders:  Individual Sophomore Transition meetings with your counselor begin on Friday, December 7th.   Meetings are 10 minutes each and will focus on; a discussion about 1st semester classes, a reflection back on your freshman year, as well as a conversation about possible future career directions.

Please go the counseling website to sign up for a time slot for your meeting.  You can also get there by using the link for the signup page found on your Schoology newsfeed as well.  Be sure to select a date and time that works best for your schedule – if you have a study hall, that would be the ideal period for this meeting.

Homeroom/ACT is the perfect time to open your laptop and sign up for a time slot for your meeting – don’t delay!

In lieu of a traditional fall play, the Ephrata High School Theatre program will bring to the stage "Mountains" an original conceptual journey on how the human spirit draws strength to adapt and move forward to see beyond a mountainous horizon.

Portrayed through the lenses of 19 students, "Mountains" captures moments of strengths by weaving together the use of movement, art, media, music, and theatre. "Mountains" will highlight individual stories from students and includes an original song composed by class of 2016 EHS graduate Ethan Fasnacht.

And now over to ____________ with the news

NEWS INTRO

--------------------------

In today's news, the soon to be released COVID 19 vaccine is 90% effective. This means that it can prevent nine out of 10 people getting Covid-19 and it is set to be put forward for emergency approval. Its developers, Pfizer and BioNTech, said it had been tested on 43,500 people, with no safety concerns raised. It is a new type of vaccine called an RNA vaccine and uses a tiny fragment of the virus' genetic code. This is some great news but don't get too excited since we still might not see it hit the public for quite a while. The first round of vaccines are destined for healthcare personnel and the most vulnerable individuals with underlying conditions.
