(photo in email) Yesterday, three members of the Cloister FFA traveled to Lebanon to compete in the regional level creed speaking contests. They had to compete and qualify in the county level contest in order to earn a spot to advance to this level of the competition. They all represented the chapter VERY well. Their placings were as follows:

Coming in 5th place…freshman River Cline

Coming in 4th place…freshman Nathan Potts

Coming in 2nd place and earning a spot at the state level competition in June…Sophie Burkey

If you see any of these students in the halls today, please congratulate them on their accomplishments.

Created in 1996 and taking place on April 14 this year, Day of Silence is a campaign that seeks to shed light on what many LGBTQ youth experience daily. Initially intended to focus on this problem within the school system, it has since expanded into workplaces, university campuses, and sporting events. Yearly, millions participate by staying silent for the duration of their day, representing the silencing of LGBTQ students.

TODAY is the final day to vote for your top six female and top six male nominees for King/Queen. Next week you will vote for Prom King and Queen. Only one vote per student. Good luck! If you are interested in running for representative of Student Council for the 2023-2024 school year, please fill out the petition with 30 signatures of students in YOUR GRADE ONLY! You will also need a teacher letter of recommendation.  We take the top 6 students from each grade to be members of Student Council each year.  Petitions and teacher recommendations are due TODAY FRIDAY APRIL 14th! Voting will happen next week.  If you have any questions, please stop down to see Mr. Marzock in room 137.

Yesterday the Unified Track team had it's first meet of the season. Ephrata came out strong and beat CV 1497 to 932.
The team had
21 1st place finishes
16 2nd place finishes
9    3rd place finishes
 
Congratulations to the entire Unified Track team and thank you to Mr. White and his team members for serving as timekeepers and judges.
 
also yesterday, tennis lost 2-5 vs Pequea Valley and volleyball lost a very close match 3-1 vs Cocalico.
 
Today, tennis is home vs Eastern Lebanon, volleyball is at Kennett, girls lacrosse is at Penn Manor and the boys are home vs Penn Manor. Baseball is home vs E town. Tomorrow, track is at the Black Knight Invitational, boys lacrosse is at Daniel Boone, softball is home vs Hershey, and baseball is home vs Southwestern
