Ephrata AM 4-14-23

Good Morning Ephrata! NAMES today is Friday April 13, 2023. Please rise for a moment of silence and a pledge to the flag.
Is your typical lunchtime banter boring you? Do you want to test your quizzical knowledge? Are you overly competitive when it comes to games that don't matter?
Sign up for lunch time trivia in the library on April 19!
Teams of 2 - 5 will be accepted after their lunch period is verified. A sign-up link has been posted on Schoology!

(photo in email) Yesterday, three members of the Cloister FFA traveled to Lebanon to compete in the regional level creed speaking contests. They had to compete and qualify in the county level contest in order to earn a spot to advance to this level of the competition. They all represented the chapter VERY well. Their placings were as follows:

Coming in 5th place…freshman River Cline

Coming in 4th place…freshman Nathan Potts

Coming in 2nd place and earning a spot at the state level competition in June…Sophie Burkey

If you see any of these students in the halls today, please congratulate them on their accomplishments.

Created in 1996 and taking place on April 14 this year, Day of Silence is a campaign that seeks to shed light on what many LGBTQ youth experience daily. Initially intended to focus on this problem within the school system, it has since expanded into workplaces, university campuses, and sporting events. Yearly, millions participate by staying silent for the duration of their day, representing the silencing of LGBTQ students.
