NEWS INTRO

Today is National deep dish pizza day. Oh, pizza. Is there a single food more universally beloved that is also so incredibly divisive? The most contentious of these divisions comes between New Yorkers and their New York-style slices and Chicagoans and their deep dish pies. Deep dish pizza was invented in the Windy City in 1943 by Ike Sewell, founder of Uno’s Pizzeria. It became so popular that it spun into a huge national chain and inspired dozens upon dozens of other deep dish pizzerias in major cities across the world.

Has one of your senior friends been grinding your gears all year long? Do you have an older sibling that’s been taunting you for years? A student that you just can’t wait to see graduate? Underclassmen and staff: now is YOUR time to LOVINGLY get back at our seniors. Pick on a Senior Day will take place on Friday, April 14th, where consenting seniors are in for a day of friendly humiliation. Anyone wishing to “pick on a senior” can enter their name  for free into the google form on Schoology or the QR Code on the flyer hanging around the school. There will then be a drawing for each senior LIVE on Ephrata AM. Students may enter their name for multiple seniors, but cannot have their name entered more than once per senior. Seniors, you are not permitted to pick on other seniors. That’s just called bullying. Once a student has been drawn for each senior, they will get run their silly shenanigan past student council for approval. Common ideas include silly costumes and having the senior carry your stuff from class to class. It is meant to be a fun day for all and a great way to make lasting memories as our time with the Class of ’23 comes to an end!

If you are interested in running for representative of Student Council for the 2023-2024 school year, please fill out the attached petition with 30 signatures of students in YOUR GRADE ONLY! Voting will happen the following week.  If you have any questions, please stop down to see Mr. Marzock in room 137.
