In today’s news, a three decade long dispute between the states of Georgia and Florida has gone to the Supreme Court. Florida claims that they’re not getting enough water from the rivers that flow downstream into Florida from Georgia, and Georgia is using too much of it. Florida wants to cap the amount of water Georgia can use, which could be a problem given that farming is a huge aspect of Georgia’s economy.

On this day in history in 1789, the first presidential election occurred. On this day, states were required to choose electors that would vote to elect the first President of the United States. A month after today, George Washington would become the first President. -----------------
