Ephrata AM 1-30-19

Good Morning Ephrata, NAMES today is Thursday Jan 30, Please rise for a moment of silence and the pledge to the flag.

Students are reminded that tomorrow, Thursday, January 31st  is the last day to drop a course without receiving a WF (withdrew failing) mark.  Course add/drop forms are available in the Counseling Office, and require a parent signature, so don’t delay.  A listing of open classes is updated daily and is available on the website as well.

If you have any questions, please see your counselor ASAP.

This important announcement is for any senior whose prospective college requires a mid-year transcript.  While the majority of colleges do not require these, you should double check to see if your school needs an updated transcript.  If so, login to Naviance to request one ASAP.  There are very specific instructions on how to request this on the opening screen in Naviance.  You will also find these instructions in Schoology updates, as well as in the Class of 2019 Resources folder in Schoology.

If you have any questions, stop by the counseling office to check with Mrs. Ditzler.

Today is Mental Health Day!  We are excited to see a sea of GREEN today—a symbol of new growth and new beginnings.

We will also have Mental Health trivia in the cafeteria today during lunch.  If you participate and answer a question correctly, you can win a prize!!

The EU is "united" over the negotiated Brexit deal, the bloc's chief negotiator Michel Barnier says, after the UK PM said she wanted to reopen it. Theresa May is expected to continue talks with the EU after MPs backed a plan to renegotiate her Brexit deal. MPs voted 317 to 301 in favour of changing the backstop plan - the bit of the deal designed to avoid the return of Northern Ireland border checks. But Mr Barnier said the EU stood by the existing withdrawal agreement.

In other news,

North Korea is unlikely to fully give up its nuclear weapons, a US intelligence report says, despite the hopes of the Trump administration. The Worldwide Threat Assessment report also says Iran is not making nuclear weapons, but that cyber threats from China and Russia are a growing concern. Both countries may be seeking to influence the 2020 election, it says. National intelligence director Dan Coats and other intelligence chiefs presented it to the Senate on Tuesday.

Now over to _________ with lunch
