Art Students Have a 'Whale of a Time' with Inktober

Disney Pixar illustrator, Jake Parker, began his Inktober Challenge in 2009, and it has since grown into a worldwide phenomenon. This October JHS art students participated in the challenge as a part of their weekly Friday Special Feature. This date happened to be "whale day," so students put pen to paper and drew their own whales. Watch the video above to see their collection which also features a stop-motion series drawn by Aubrey Kirkland.

You can check out the Inktober website for a listing of daily prompts from previous years. Be sure to check back next year and consider posting your own ink drawings on social media. This is a great way to connect artists from around the world!
