Juniata Football Season Comes to a Close

2018 marked the first year of the combination of East Juniata and Juniata into one football program, a new and exciting endeavor.  This year was also the year where Coach Gary Klingensmith achieved his 300th victory as a coach. The Tri Valley League was extra competitive this year, leaving exciting games throughout the season. Overall, the season was a disappointing one when it came to wins and losses, but  it was still a learning experience for players and an exciting experience all around.

At the time of writing, the team is 2-7. For a winning program like Juniata Football, this was a disappointing record, with no chance of going to the playoffs. The players still fought hard each week and did not give up. Injuries plagued the team, and there are many promising players coming back for the future, so there are bright spots ahead for the program. I expect this team to get back to their winning ways next season.
