Looking Back at the 2018 Marching Band Season

As there are only two football games left, marching band season is coming to a close, and I am already beginning to feel nostalgia about everything we’ve done. I remember the first combined practice between Juniata and East Juniata. I remember the uncomfortable feeling of playing under a different director and the way the schools avoided each other during breaks. I remember band camp, when we spent eight hours a day completely focused on our fifteen-minute field show. I remember blossoming friendships, and the way the avoidance of the opposite school began to dissolve. As a drum major, I remember directing this enormous band for the first time, and the intense joy and excitement it brought me. Suddenly, we were going to games every Friday, showing the rest of the world how marching band is done. I love every single member of the Juniata County Marching Band, and I am so incredibly proud to be a part of it. I look back at this season with a sense of gratefulness for my band family and every experience I had with them. I can hardly wait for my senior year.
