“Treat Everyone you meet like the gatekeeper to your destiny.”- Joel Osteen.
This quote comes from Senior Pastor Joel Olsteen of the Lakewood Church. I am not very religious, but I like to learn new things that will expand my mind and help me grow as a person.
“Treat Everyone you meet like the gatekeeper to your destiny” is basically the “don’t judge a person by their appearance” quote, but it gives a less superficial tone. When I read this quote, I think about all the people in my life that I have met before, but never gave them the time of day to even have a conversation with them. If I just approached this person, I would truly find out if they are truly horrible or just an ordinarily, pleasant human being. Once I became more open minded about meeting new people, I began to understand the amazing benefits and perks of socializing with that person. Evenmore, you would get to know a person and understand how human they are because in some form or another they may share the same struggles as you. This quote does not imply that you may meet the perfect person because we are all human and are damaged in someway.
This quote is the reason why when I feel particularly grateful, I tell the people around me, “I appreciate your existence around me.” Sometimes I even say that very loudly so maybe someone else will hear it and maybe say it to their friends because the people that we meet and chose to be yourself with are a reflection of your character.
What could this quote do for you? Well it make you aware of the fact that the majority of people in this world are just simply awesome, and that being around them might just make you a better person; Or meeting new people might bring more opportunities into your life that you never thought could happen. The possibilities are endless.
