Art club project #1

In case you miss any art club meetings, heres how to do the projects at home!

First, you'll need a pencil, paper, a ruler, crayons, tape, and watercolors. Since we're using watercolors, you should tape the paper down so it doesn't get warped by the water. With the ruler, you make a grid. It doesn't have to be a perfectly measured grid, you can have smaller or larger boxes to help add interest. Then you make some circles on the page, and draw tree trunks coming up to the circles. Don't forget to add a line across the page as this will be the horizon. Then get ready to color! You color the boxes according to what sections you're coloring. So, color the sky any color you want, and then color the ground in different colors so you can differentiate between the two sections. Same thing goes for the tree trunks and the circle tops of the trees. Just don't color too heavily because then you'll be using the watercolors overtop of your coloring. The wax crayons repel the watercolor so when you put it down you see the watercolor in-between the crayon and it gives a cool effect.
