Game 3 Preview

This year’s NBA finals are maybe the most anticipated finals in NBA history. The Golden State Warriors will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers for the third straight year, setting an NBA record for consecutive finals by the same teams.

The Warriors won the first time they met the Cavaliers at the finals in 2015. The Cavs however came back in 2016 to steal the title from the Warriors after being the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3 – 1 deficit.

The Warriors have made moves in the offseason since and were able to sign the 2014 NBA most valuable player, small forward Kevin Durant from Oklahoma City. The Warriors took game one of this years NBA finals by a score of 113 – 91 with Kevin Durant dominating the court racking up 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 38 points.

The Cavs struggled in game one and turned the ball over 20 times, 8 of which belonged to Lebron James. In game two the Cavs were able to keep it a close game for about 3 quarters until the warriors jumped to a 19 point lead in the fourth. The Warriors came away with the win again in game two by outscoring Cleveland 132-113.

Even though his team lost Lebron James of the Cavs was able to record a triple double in game 2 with 11 rebounds, 14 assists, 1 block, 3 steals, and 29 points.

On the other side Steph Curry also recorded a triple double with 10 rebounds, 11 assists, 1 steal, and 32 points. Kevin Durant had another dominating performance in game 2 after getting 13 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks, 3 steals, and 33 points.

Although the Warriors lead the series 2 – 0 the next 2 games they will have to play in Cleveland. This could be the Cavs chance to gain momentum and tie the series, but if they fail to defend “The Land” the Warriors might complete the improbable sweep of Cleveland and remain perfect in the NBA playoffs.

Game three will take place on Wednesday the 7th at 6 pm.
