Whether you don’t understand what you feel, or you just want to throw someone out a window, there’s an obscure word out there that means just what you want.

  • Defenestration: VERB- “The action of throwing someone or something out of the window.” (Via Wikipedia)

    • For when throwing someone out of the door just isn’t good enough.


  • Petrichor: NOUN- “The pleasant smell that accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather.”(Via Oxford Dictionaries)

    • The best smell there is and you know it.


  • Lucubration: NOUN- “Study; Meditation” (Via Merriam-Webster)

    • Because when you’re cramming five minutes before the test, you might as well sound fancy about it.


  • Prolix: ADJECTIVE- “Using or containing too many words; Tediously lengthy” (Via Merriam-Webster)

    • How most of the essays you write seem when in reality you’re just trying to make the minimum word count.


  • Liberosis: NOUN- “The desire to care less about things” (Via Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows)

    • When you just want to let it all fade away while you take a bubble bath… But you can’t because you have obscene amounts of homework.
