Movie Review: Doctor Strange

The new movie, Doctor Strange follows Stephen Strange, an acclaimed neurosurgeon, who has nothing short of an extraordinary and luxurious life, until one fateful day when he escapes a nearly fatal accident, leaving his hands unusable. As he seeks  a cure, he is thrown into an entirely new, mystical world hidden inside of our own. In this mind-bending movie, Strange must learn to harness the energy he has within himself to protect the world from the forces set on destroying it, and the strength to continue pushing forward even through seemingly insurmountable difficulties. Doctor Strange is an incredible movie that anyone can easily enjoy with its humorous atmosphere, as well as the many action-packed scenes.

Stephen Strange is portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch, an actor well known for his part in the BBC TV series Sherlock, as well as other titles including The Imitation Game and 12 Years a Slave. Cumberbatch often plays roles in which his character is someone of high intelligence, who solves the many problems in his path. In the movie, Dr. Strange's fellow surgeon is played by Rachel McAdams, popularized by her role in Mean Girls, as well as The Notebook. Other characters include the Ancient One, played by Tilda Swinton, and Dr. Strange's arch-nemesis, Baron Mordo, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor.
