VERY important message. We will be skiing on Wednesday this week not Thursday (yes, that’s tomorrow!). We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but mother nature is not playing nice this snow season. The forecast is for rain again on Thursday. Bear Creek is open, blowing snow, and has many blue and black runs open. Another VERY important point: You MUST have your final payment for the bus as well as ALL paperwork turned in or you cannot get on the bus on Wednesday. --------------------------- Now over to __________ with the news --------------------- NEWS INTRO --------------------- Today is INTERNATIONAL MENTORING DAY On January 17th, International Mentoring Day fosters a global understanding of the mentoring movement throughout the world. The day also raises awareness for the global contributions of mentoring. Mentoring usually involves a more knowledgeable person sharing wisdom with someone who has less experience. ----------------------------- now back to the main desk --------------------------- Attention Juniors, the next meeting of the prom committee and officers will be TOMORROW Jan 18th at 315pm after school in Mrs. Petri's room 200. If you would still like to join the prom committee, it is not too late. ---------------------------- LUNCH ------------------------ SPORTS INTRO -------------------- Friday, bowling won 7-0 vs Lebanon. Boys Basketball lost 55-34 vs Warwick. The girls won 31-21. Saturday boys basketball won 58-34 vs Twin Valley. Cooper Truskey exploded with 6 three pointers and ended as the top scorer with 24. The girls lost 39-50 at Lebanon. The Ephrata Winter Track & Field team competed at Franklin and Marshall College for the first winter meet. Our team had some outstanding performances including: 8 Personal Records 10 Top Ten Meet Finishers 2 Meet Champions 1 New Indoor School Record Top Ten Finishers Were: Miles Campbell 7th in the 400-meter dash Noah Keller 4th in the 1600-meter run Parker Loose 7th in the 1600-meter run Katelynn Baker, Hannah Schwartz, Vittoria Faccio and Natalie Martin 5th in the 4x400 relay Weston Nolt 4th in the shot put Brennan Frymoyer 7th in the shot put Camielle Cochran 9th in the pole vault Adelyn Zimmerman 7th in the pole vault Meet Champions Were: Nick Keller 1st place in the 400-meter dash with a new school record of 51.33 seconds Jeremiah Knowles, Noah Keller, Miles Campbell and Nick Keller 1st place in the 4x400 meter relay. The team will travel to Franklin and Marshall College again on Saturday, February 28th. Today, swimming is home vs Lancaster Catholic, rifle is home vs Wilson, wrestling is at Cedar Cliff, and basketball plays against E town.
