Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association reached a deal for a new collective bargaining agreement on Thursday, ending the league's owner-imposed lockout.

The union voted to approve a new proposal by a 26-12 margin (a simple majority, or 20 votes, was all that was required for the new agreement to pass, but it's notable that the eight members of the executive subcommittee all voted no). The owners ratified the new five-year CBA on Thursday night, voting 30-0 in favor. MLB's offseason business (trades and free agency) is expected soon. Players will report to spring training in the coming days, and MLB teams are set to play a full, 162-game season in 2022. Opening Day is April 7, per CBS Sports HQ's Jim Bowden.

The process of removing plexiglass from the cafeteria tables will begin soon by EASD personnel. Students are not permitted to remove panels and will be asked to pay for broken dividers. This much anticipated change will require some adjustments, the first of which will be no more standing at tables in the cafeteria. All students in the cafeteria will be in a seat.

The seating capacity in the cafeteria will also increase without the plexiglass limitation, which will allow the lounge to return to a lounge and not be used during lunches. We will allow for some time for transition, but in the very near future there will be few if any students in the lounge area during lunches. The passes issued to upperclassmen to eat in the lounge will soon no longer be valid and will need to be disposed of. Students at the benches in the cross-corridor will also be significantly limited moving forward. The cross-corridor will remain permanently closed during A lunch
