LAST CALL! The Cloister FFA Chapter will be pre-selling whoopie pies during lunches today in the cafeteria in celebration of National FFA Week. Both classic chocolate and chocolate chip whoopie pies are available for $2 each. If you are interested in purchasing whoopie pies, today is your LAST CHANCE to pre-order. You must pay when ordering. Distribution of whoopie pies will be directly to each homeroom during ACT on Thursday, February 24th.

Attention Ski & Snowboard Club: BIG change for this week’s ski trip. We are now going to Bear Creek on WEDNESDAY not Thursday. That means we are going to Bear Creek tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes but the weather isn’t playing nice this year. If you have remaining sessions on your Bear Creek pass, you can still use them during the week at any time (except holidays like President’s Day).

If you are in 11th or 12th grade and interested in the arts (music/video industry), engineering, manufacturing, finance, or marketing, ROCK LITITZ has the most AWESOME event for you!! Plan to attend this hand-on exploration activity where technology meets art at this live event industry day on April 28th. Rock Lititz is a one-of-a-kind production community that supports innovative creativity within the live event industry. With resources ranging from design, engineering, and manufacturing through rehearsals, and beyond, Rock Lititz is a one-stop-shop to collaborate on any live experience. This is a great activity to help you decide if any of the careers that support live events are for you. Be sure to check out the link in Schoology and complete the online survey link ASAP if you are interested.

Attention Juniors: Thaddeus Stevens college will be hosting a College Fair on Tuesday March 15th. This fair attracts approximately 100 different colleges, universities, and trade school representatives. This is a great opportunity for 11th graders to interact with and learn about different colleges, which was a main focus of recent Junior Transition meetings.
Space is limited, so if you are interested, please print out a field trip permission packet from Schoology or pick one up from the Counseling Office and return it asap.

This is a reminder for all 9th and 10th grade students to login to your PowerSchool portal to enter course requests for next year. Be sure to research all course options, checking out course descriptions and prerequisites for each courses you are interested in, as well as to consider pathway elective opportunities for next year. The course selection portal closes for 10th graders on Wednesday February 16th midnight and Wednesday February 23rd at midnight for 9 graders.
Don’t delay, and be sure to select courses for next year today!

This announcement is for any student who is interested in learning more about the US Service Academies; you are invited to attend Service Academy Night which will be hosted by Congressman Lloyd Smucker on Friday, February 25th 2022 at Penn Manor High School from 6:30-8:30PM. Academy Night will include information about:
The difference between attending an academy and ROTC.
The value of attending a summer program at an Academy.
The ‘ideal’ candidate for an academy.
Determining the difference between a nomination and an appointment.
You’ll also be able to check out options available through the US Service Academies; West Point, Naval, Air Force, Merchant Marine and Coast Guard) and ROTC programs.
Each of the Service Academies offers an incredible FREE college education worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. For more details, check your Schoology Class of group. It is especially important to start this process early – Freshmen and sophomores should attend if they have any interest in one of these post-secondary options.
