Do you hear that music playing? See those boys dancing down the hall? It's the Mr. Four Diamonds Pageant and it's headed right this way! Join us January 26th for a kick-off assembly that will knock your socks off. And then again after school for the talent portion that will be sure to dazzle your senses. In fact, why don't you jump into our celebrations by participating in our omeroom Hustle. The homerooms will riase money by gianing incentives. If your homeroom raises $200 for the Goofy tier your whole homeroom gets swag bags, $300 in the Minnie teir gets you a donut party, and $400 in the Mickey teir gets your homeroom a pizza party! Start bringing in money on Wednesday January 19th and continue up till Wednesday January 26th! Bring in your loose change, your dollar, dollar bills, or even a check to get your homeroom closer to that slice of pie. Remember, that's all happening starting next week!
Now over to __________ with the news
Jordan Maywald has been in charge of his family's Christmas decorations since he was nine. Each year since, Jordan, now 23, has added more to the light display that has turned their Austin property into a holiday destination.
"It started very small, just a few things in our front yard," he tells Southern Living. "Over the years I expanded across much of our property and now it covers about 3.5 acres."
For the past seven years, the Maywalds have used their famous light display to raise money for Make-A-Wish Central and South Texas.
This year, they welcomed more than 15,000 visitors, raising more than $80,000 to fund 10 wishes. To date, the display has raised nearly $200,000 and granted 27 wishes. Each time a wish is granted, Jordan adds a reindeer to the mix.
"Helping these children is what Christmas is all about for us," he tells Southern Living. "We will continue to put up our display yearly to help grant life changing wishes!"
In other news, it's national dress up your pet day!
Who loves Panera?! I know I do! TOMORROW On Saturday January 15th, come to the Ephrata Panera from 4-8 PM. Show them the flyer on the EHS Mini-THON Insta or use in the code "PRFUND" for online orders.  A portion of proceeds from all orders will be donated to EHS Mini-THON.
There is only 1 school day remaining in the first semester of the school year. A reminder to all students that the second semester begins on Tuesday, January 18th.
You will not be receiving a paper copy of your 2nd semester schedule this year.  Instead, you should be sure to check it out through the PowerSchool portal asap.  You can do this by clicking on “My Schedule” from the menu on the left side of the home screen.  Then click on the “Matrix View” Tab which is located above your schedule.  The default is “week view” – which shows this week only.  Beginning Monday, you will see your 2nd semester classes by default.
If you want to add a course in place of a study hall, check the open class listing which is available on the EHS Counseling webpage, and Schoology message your counselor with the name of the course and the period that you are switching with a study hall.
If you changed your mind and wish to drop a course, we need you to have your parent email your counselor with the requested change.

Mini-THON will be hosting a design contest. The challenge: Desing a T-Shirt for this year's Disney Mini-THON. The design must represent the theme, say Ephrata Mini-THON, and be a maximum of two colors. Check out the flyers around the school or the post on Schoology for more info on how to submit the design. The winning design will earn a free t-shirt and entry to Mini-THON this year! Designs are due January 31st. We can't wait to see what you come up with!
And who is judging the shirts, you may ask. Why, Snow White of course. She's the fairest of them all.
Have a great day Ephrata!
