Yesterday, the scoring came early in the boys soccer match vs Garden Spot. The Spartans tallied a goal in minute 4 which would be their only score. Joshua Patrushev followed in the 20th minute and Simon Yoder in the 28th for the win. With that, the boys soccer team has clinched the section 2 title. Field hockey has also clinched the Section 2 crown with a 3-1 victory at E town. Goal scoring was a hat trick from Mallory Kline. Girls soccer won 3-0 at Garden Spot. Jorja Welsh, Iyana Nissley and Cara Tiesi all had goals for the Lady Mounts. With the win, the girls soccer team also clinched the section title. Congratulations to all three teams for your outstanding regular season play!
The Mounts’ Freshman/Middle School football team took to War Memorial Field yesterday for a Wednesday afternoon showdown with the Donegal Indians. The game was a scoreless, defensive battle until, with 2.9 seconds left, Caleb Grant connected with Nick Keller for an 85 yard touchdown pass and run to win the game, 6-0, with no time left on the clock. Leading the outstanding Jr. Mounts defensive unit was Brennan Frymoyer and Kaleb Sweigart who each recorded multiple quarterback sacks to seal the shutout and the win.
