Emily in Paris dropped on Netflix on October 2nd, and with 10 short episodes all under 30 minutes long, it is totally binge-able! The series follows Emily, played by the incredible Lily Collins, as she begins working at a marketing firm in Paris. Filled with impeccable fashion, romance, and a killer performance by Broadway veteran Ashley Park, this show is definitely worth watching!

 

  1. Outer Banks

With everyone at home when Out Banks was released on Netflix in April, it easily became a sensation. If you live under a rock, the 10 episode series is set in the Outer Banks where there are two classes: the rich Kooks, and the poor Pogues. Their lives intertwine when John B. (yes, they always say the “B”), a Pogue, decides to go after a treasure with his friends. The show’s popularity stems from the intriguing mystery and cast filled with young newcomers. Watch before season two, which is currently in production, comes out!

 

  1. The Society

While this technology belongs in the category of shows that have ended, fans still hope that The Society, which was prematurely cancelled in August due to the pandemic, will make a return in some capacity. Until then, the Society remains a one season, 10 episode show perfect for those who love a good mystery. After leaving for a field trip, a group of seniors return to their suburban town to find that they are the only people there. Not only that, but after being dropped off, they are unable to leave the town. This Lord of the Flies scenario answers the question, what would happen if a bunch of teenagers had completely unrestricted power? The Society has left a lot of questions unanswered, if you watch it and love it, let Netflix know!

  1. John Mulaney’s Specials

Currently, comedian John Mulaney has six films on Netflix. In the for stand-up? Throw on Kid Gorgeous, the Comeback Kid and/or New in Town. Want to feel nostalgic, John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch is perfect. A comedy? Oh Hello, on Broadway is for you. Want to watch a quick witted talking pig? Spider-Man into the Spider-verse. In the “John Mulaney Cinematic Universe,” there is always something to watch, even if you have seen it a million times before. Mulaney’s specials are high quotable and definitely worth a binge!

Community aired from 2009 to 2014, and made its way to Netflix in April 2020. The show is set at Greendale Community College, where an unlikely group of characters find themselves in a study group together. Community is filled with meta-humor, inspiration from different movies, and crazy antics such as extreme paintball and blanket forts, making it an extremely entertaining show that you won’t want to stop watching. It features many stars including Donald Glover, Chevy Chase, Yvette Nicole Brown, Joel McHale, Ken Jeong, and Danny Pudi, among others. Community is six seasons long, with a potential movie.

 

  1. The Devil of All Time

The Devil of All Time is a fantastic psychological thriller. The film perfectly captures post-World War II suburban America, and the intertwining lives of its characters across two decades. The tone and cinematography of this piece makes if perfect to watch on a dark night. With a star-studded cast including Tom Holland, Robert Patterson, Sebastian Stan, and Bill Skarsgård, this movie is definitely worth a watch.
