Imagine a world without Princess Leia and her iconic hairstyle? Hard to imagine, huh?  She is so culturaily important that everyone should know a little about her. 

Carrie Fisher was born October 21, 1956 in Burbank, California. She was known for roles in many movies, but the one she is most known for is her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies. Her first film role was in the Movie Shampoo in 1975, playing a small part, and her last appearance was in Star Wars: The Last Jedi which was released posthumously.  Although she was a star in many movies, she was also an advocate for mental health.  She also created a documentary and memoir, both called Wishful Drinking, based on her one-woman show. She was nominated for two Grammy Awards and three Emmy Awards. On December 27th, 2016, Carrie Fisher died in Los Angeles of sudden cardiac arrest. Hope the Force is with her.
