The news is that in 2019, in the United States of America, as of Sunday,  there have been 251 mass shootings*, according to data from the nonprofit Gun Violence Archive, which tracks every mass shooting in the country. 

In the past 8 days these happened: 

    Dayton, Ohio,  9 people killed and 27 injured.
    El Paso, Texas, 20 people killed and 26 wounded. 
    Gilroy Garlic Festival in the San Francisco,  three people killed and 15 injured.
    Brooklyn block party,  one person killed and 11 injured.
    Southaven, Mississippi,  two people killed and two injured.

Stop. 

*The Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shooting as any incident in which at least four people were shot, excluding the shooter.
