Virginia Governor Trouble 

Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia is holding fast to his office despite demands for his resignation after a racist photograph from his medical school yearbook page was brought to light. Northam now denies he is either person in the photo which shows a person dressed in blackface and another dresses as a member of the Ku Klux Klan. The denial is a change from an apology he offered when the photo first made headline last week.

And the Super Bowl Winner is... 

The New England Patriots beat the L.A. Rams 13-3 to win their sixth Super Bowl in what many consider one of the most boring bowls in history. Regardless, congrats to the Pats.

Empire Star Attacked 

Jussie Smollet, a star of the Fox hit show Empire, was viciously attacked as he was walking home from a early morning Subway run. Smollet told Chicago police that two men shouted homophobic and racial slurs at him, kicked and beat him, and screamed "MAGA country." The attack shocked friends and fans across the country with many calling for the attack to labeled a hate crime. Smollet, who is identifies as black and openly gay, performed at a concert after his attack and called for people to respond with "more love" in response to his attack.
