President Donald Trump toured the devastation of the Camp Fire with Paradise Mayor Jody Jones visiting the wreckage of the Skyway Villa Mobile Home and RV Park. The President repeated his view that the state’s forests must be managed more aggressively to prevent future disasters. 

A spokeswoman for the Butte County Sheriff’s Office reported that the total number of persons killed in the fire was updated to 77, with 993 people still missing  as of Sunday night.

Bloomberg’s Big Gift

Michael Bloomberg, the former Mayor of New York City and possible presidential candidate, will gift $1.8 billion in scholarship money to his alma mater Johns Hopkins University, the largest gift to any academic institution in U.S. history. 

The money will be go towards scholarships for students from low and middle-income families, allowing the university to offer need-blind admissions and all but eliminating the need for student loans and financial aid packages.

Found

A deep water mystery has been solved. An Argentine naval submarine that disappeared one year ago has been found in the seabed of the South Atlantic. The discovery of the wreckage puts to rest the fate of the 44 crew members on board and offers closure to the relatives of those lost.
