Apologize?

In a growing controversy that threatens to overshadow President Trump's diplomatic victory in Korea, the White House is struggling to respond to accusations of inappropriate comments made during the communication's team staff meeting. The team was discussing Senator John McCain's opposition to Gina Haspel, Trump's nominee to head the Central Intelligence Agency. The leak revealed that Kelly Sadler, a White House special assistant, said McCain’s views didn’t matter because “he's dying anyway."

McCain has publicly stated that he was concerned by the nominee's refusal to state that torture is immoral during her confirmation hearing.

Trump Vows to Save Jobs in China

In a recent tweet, President Trump stated that he was working with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to help electronics giant ZTE. The Chinese company had to stop major operations after sanctions by the United States Department of Commerce kicked in last month. ZTE has more than 75,000 employees and services customers in over 160 nations. The tweet surprised many because it showed a willingness by the President to temper contentious issues that have threatened United States’ trade talks with China over the past few months.

Raptors Fire Coach of the Year

Sometimes you can't win. The Toronto Raptors proved that by firing Coach Dwane Casey four days after the Raptors were swept out of the postseason by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The firing comes just two days after Casey was chosen as the NBA’s coach of the year.
