Elon Musk's SpaceX successfully launched the Falcon Heavy rocket into space this week. The 27-engine rocket has become the most powerful way yet of launching the craft into space. The launch was a huge step forward for the SpaceX program and Musk's goal of inhabiting Mars with colonists from Earth.

Ever the showman, Musk mounted his red Tesla Roadster onto the rocket with a mannequin driver nicknamed "Starman." Pictures and a live video feed from a camera mounted on the rocket provided us earthlings with majestic pics of the start of the Tesla floating through space.
