October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Death rates from breast cancer have fallen because of increased awareness that’s led to better screening and improved treatment options.

Over 250,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed in the U.S. every year. Breast cancer affects one in eight women. It could be your sister, mother, daughter, or friend.
