Create a Shoe!

Do you dream of shoes? Are you constantly spending your hard earned allowance or paycheck on your favorite footwear? Well, here is your chance to use your passion for shoes for something that might turn into a career.

Stuart Weitzman and the New York Historical Society are asking New York metro-area high school students to participate in a footwear design competition in conjunction with Walk this Way: Footwear from the Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes. Students can submit a unique shoe design in one of two categories: Socially-Conscious Fashion or Material Innovation. The entries will be reviewed by prominent curators, educators, and Stuart Weitzman himself. Ten finalists’ designs will be exhibited in Walk this Way at the New-York Historical Society. The finalists will be invited to a VIP Opening Reception where Stuart Weitzman will announce the winning shoes which will be produced and featured in the exhibition!

The design competition is open to all high school students in the tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut) who are in the 9th through 12th grades during the 2017-2018 school year. The deadline to enter is December 18, 2017.
