With the departure of Dr. Sparkenbaugh, Mrs. Danielle Langdon has transferred to the position of high school counselor.

She had decided to move because she saw an opportunity to mix things up and try something different.

Before working in Forest Grove as counselor for 16 years, she was a counselor at Ingram for two years and a counselor at David E. for two years.

Langdon received undergraduate degree in childhood development and family relationships. She then went to work at Allegheny General Hospital to do research on special needs students. She also worked as a preschool teacher for a while and then she went back to school through Pitt for her masters in counseling.

Langdon wanted to become a counselor because of her experiences she had at Montour.

Coming to the high school, Langdon likes the change and how fast paced the day is. “I like it. It’s different every day and there’s something new every day,” says Langdon. She also likes working with the older students and seeing the students she worked with when they were younger.

Time management is one difficulty Langdon has found because she has a lot of work to do.
