Jeff Sessions’ Testimony Leads to More Questions

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee was supposed to clear up any remaining questions about the Russian investigation and the firing of former FBI Director, James Comey.  After his testimony,  many news organizations have more questions than ever.

Sessions recently admitted that he violated his pledge of recusal in relation to the investigation.  When Senator Diane Feinstein asked how he was involved in Comey’s firing, he explained how he was critical of Comey’s handling of the Clinton email investigation.  Sessions essentially advised the President to fire Comey for these actions.  The Senate Intelligence Committee may not have another chance to question Sessions under oath, but this case is far from over.

Kamala Harris Shushed

Senate Intelligence Chairman Richard Burr insisted that they “allow the chair to control the hearing”.  Sessions himself was laughing during Harris’ questioning.

To the fear and dismay of many White House Officials, Robert Mueller is heading the investigation.  He’s doing so by reaching out to current and recently resigned officials on the subject.  Mueller met with members of the Senate Intelligence Committee this past Tuesday, but the specifics of the meeting were classified.
